About The Position

As an Orthopedic Technician, you’ll provide hands-on patient care by applying casts and splints, dispensing DME, and supporting physicians—all while keeping the clinic organized and running smoothly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in a medical facility preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to educate patients effectively, and proficiency in inventory management.
  • Ability to collaborate with clinic staff, communicate clearly with patients, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment per physician orders.
  • Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.
  • Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.
  • Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.
  • Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.
  • Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.
  • Report new usage trends to the Practice Manager.
  • Assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.
