About The Position

Renown Health is Northern Nevada's largest not-for-profit integrated health network with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Located in Reno, NV, we are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon to join our newly established Orthopedic Division in the Department of Surgery for Renown Medical Group. Renown Health serves northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeastern California, and is the region's only Level II trauma center, serving a population of over 1 million patients. The affiliation with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, offers robust academic opportunities, including graduate and undergraduate medical education. The ideal candidate must have completed a 5 year Orthopedic Surgery Residency and be Board Eligible/Board Certified from the ABOS or AOBOS -specialists to have completed a 1+ year Fellowship in a subspecialty. The Orthopedic Surgeon will have the support of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons and Surgical Oncology Orthopedic Surgeon. The new adult Orthopedic Division will provide specific orthopedic care to adult patients treating ages 18 - geriatric. The Orthopedic Department is accepting all disciplines including general, sports medicine, foot/ankle, hand and upper extremity, spine, shoulder and elbow. The surgeon should have a passion for teaching and mentoring residents and students in a collaborative, academic, and patient-centered environment. This position also provides opportunities for involvement in research and quality improvement initiatives. Reno maintains its small city charm while providing many amenities seen in larger metropolitan areas. In addition to being the "biggest little city" Reno is known for its year-round outdoor activities including world class skiing, hiking and outdoor adventures. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents, and fellows

Requirements

  • Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified from the ABOS or AOBOS
  • Completed an accredited Orthopedic Residency Program
