This job designs and fits supportive products to provide care to patients who have disabling conditions of the limbs and spine or need assistance with activities of daily living to maintain function to remain active. Assesses patients, formulates a treatment plan, implements the treatment plan, follows up and manages the practice. Works closely with the medical staff in the treatment and/or rehabilitation of the injured, athlete or physically challenged. Assumes responsibility for fitting patients with orthotic braces, dispensing TENS units to patients, casting application and removal, splinting, and instructing them on use and care.
