Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an orthodontic dental assistant. (Required)
  • Current OA/RDA license. (Required)
  • Current CPR certification. (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures such as bonding, bracket/wire/appliance placement and removal, and orthodontic adjustments.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety at all times.
  • Accurately perform charting activities / document exam findings in the patient records.
  • Welcome patients, explain procedures, provide oral hygiene instructions, and post-treatment care guidance.
  • Answer questions with empathy and professionalism.
  • Sterilize instruments, prepare trays, and maintain a clean, organized treatment area in line with infection control protocols.
  • Take digital X-rays, impressions, scans, and photographs.
  • Accurately document treatment information and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records.
  • Pour and trim models, prepare appliances, and perform basic lab procedures as needed.
  • Maintain and test clinical equipment, monitor inventory levels, and restock supplies.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, assist with front desk/reception/marketing and social media duties.
  • Work closely with the dental team to ensure efficient operations, exceptional patient care, and support preventive dental activities.
