About The Position
Position Summary Provides technical assistance and administrative coordination in order to ensure quality services and optimal patient outcomes under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists anesthesia staff with spinal and epidural anesthesia. Stocking supplies as needed. Carries out environmental sanitation, equipment cleaning, maintenance and storage functions within the Labor and Delivery area. Assists with the transport and/or positioning of patients within the department. Taking specimens to lab and/or pathology. Works flexible hours and is on call weekends and holidays. May need to work beyond the regular tour of duty as assigned by the Department Head or Nursing Supervisor.
Requirements
- BLS certification form the American Heart Association
- High School diploma preferred; at least six months to a year as hospital/OR orderly
- Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition and assist with varied operative procedures and surgeon's verbal directives
- Required License/Certification: BLS certification form the American Heart Association
