Position Summary: The ED Tech is responsible for assisting the healthcare team members in delivering patient care to emergency room patients. This includes preparing patients for examinations and treatments, taking patient vital signs, obtaining specimens, initiating and maintaining IV saline locks. This position is responsible for setting up rooms with necessary supplies and equipment and assisting physicians and staff nurses during treatments. Gathers patient information for emergency room patients in the functional areas of admissions, discharges, insurance verification and emergency room treatment records. At least one year of experience as a nursing assistance, EMT, monitor tech, or unit secretary, preferably in the area of application. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS
  • Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • IV Experience (preferred)
  • 1 year in hospital or related field desired
