About The Position

The Ordering/Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of prescription (Rx) orders within the Dallas Lab. This position is responsible for reviewing Rx data in the system, processing orders, and making necessary corrections to ensure accuracy before jobs move into production. The role serves as a key point of contact for customer inquiries related to order status and provides essential support to the stockroom and pre-production teams. This position manages the receipt of short orders and finished and semi-finished lenses, ensuring all materials are properly accounted for and routed to the correct areas. The Order/Receiving Clerk performs cycle counts for all lens types, maintaining accurate inventory levels and helping prevent shortages or delays. The role also researches backorders and estimated delivery times with vendors and internal stock teams to support production planning and customer communication. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to compare data against source documents to detect errors, and proficiency in computer systems. The Ordering/Receiving Clerk must be knowledgeable in company billing policies, lens and coating availability, and service codes. Clear communication via email and direct interaction with internal teams and customers is essential. The role provides operational flexibility by assisting the team lead as needed and cross-training in other areas of the lab. This ensures continuity during peak workloads, absences, or staffing changes. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
