The Role The Forged Fiber 37 Order Management Specialist supports the execution of end-to-end dark fiber orders by managing submissions, tracking milestones, coordinating activations, and maintaining accurate system-of-record documentation. This role works closely with the Order Management Lead, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, clear communication, and operational accuracy throughout the order lifecycle. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Telecommunications, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in order management, provisioning, or telecom operations.
  • Experience working with order management systems (e.g., EASE, VFO, or similar platforms).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting dark fiber or fiber network services.
  • Familiarity with vendor provisioning processes and SLA-based delivery models.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with network, construction, and operations teams.
  • Strong Excel, reporting, and data tracking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Order Submission & Processing · Submit and manage dark fiber orders in vendor and internal systems, including EASE, VFO, and other order management platforms. · Ensure order accuracy, completeness, and compliance with vendor and internal requirements. · Monitor order acknowledgments and confirm acceptance with vendors.
  • Weekly Stat using & Milestone Tracking · Track order milestones from submission through activation and closeout. · Maintain detailed order status trackers and dashboards. · Provide weekly status updates to the Order Management Lead and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Escalations & Follow-Ups · Proactively identify stalled or at-risk orders and initiate follow-ups with vendors. · Support escalations by gathering facts, documentation, and timelines. · Coordinate with the Order Management Lead on higher-severity or recurring issues.
  • Activation Coordination · Coordinate service activation activities with vendors, network operations, and internal teams. · Validate readiness for activation, including testing, turn-up schedules, and documentation. · Confirm successful activation and handoff to operations teams.
  • Documentation & System-of-Record Updates · Maintain accurate and up-to-date order records across systems of record. · Ensure contracts, LOAs, circuit IDs, milestones, and delivery details are properly documented. · Support audit, reporting, and forecasting needs through data accuracy and consistency.
