About The Position

Element has an opportunity for an Order Entry Technician in our customer service group at our Glendale Heights, IL location. The successful candidate will perform order entry of incoming test requests with detailed procedures, perform technical review of client purchasing documentation to ensure compliance and other scheduled tasks under direction of Operations. This role interfaces with operations, technical staff, and business development to serve our client base as we strive to continuously deliver excellence to our clients. This is a great opportunity to develop your Administration career within a Global TIC business. Please Note: This is a fixed term assignment, and will last approximately 6 months.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED or previous relevant customer service/data entry work experience in an office environment or equivalent preferred.
  • Highly self-motivated and organized individual with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision yet will seek out help when necessary.
  • Ability to work to deadlines without compromising the quality of work or safety.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)

  • This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with a wide range of supporting laboratory activities such as machining and laboratory techniques (wet chemistry, gas analysis and, physical test methods) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack deliveries, maintaining traceability of the parts and accompanying paperwork through receiving, order processing and delivery/routing steps.
  • Read and interpret client orders and documentation; review noted/related technical standards and requirements.
  • Correctly establish orders in LIMS, based upon the supplied information.
  • Perform Initial contract and technical review of required documentation on established orders.
  • Provide and distribute sample/material and work information to processing departments’ technical staff and supervisors, ensuring expeditious and successful completion of work requirements to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • As a team member, work to ensure efficient processing of client orders as required by production schedules.
  • Participate in/maintain workplace in accordance with 5S protocols and procedures.
  • Assists with coordination of production, quality, and process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or lab management.
  • With direction, contact clients for additional information, resolve discrepancies and obtain clarification when needed regarding technical issues and serve as point of contact regarding job status of work.
