About The Position

The HRIS Core HR Manager is responsible for the strategic ownership, configuration, and operational integrity of the Core HR module within Oracle Cloud HCM. This role serves as the primary business and functional owner for Core HR, ensuring global consistency, data integrity, compliance, and alignment with People & Culture processes across the firm. This is an internal, firm‑based role focused on supporting Grant Thornton’s People & Culture organization and HR technology ecosystem; it is not a client‑facing or consulting position The role balances hands‑on functional leadership with people and stakeholder management, overseeing Core HR operations, enhancements, integrations, and ongoing optimization while supporting global growth, acquisitions, and system transformations. The HRIS Core HR Manager partners closely with P&C leaders, Payroll, Reporting & Integrations, Enterprise Technology, and external vendors to ensure Core HR solutions enable scalable, compliant, and user‑friendly HR processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of HRIS experience, with deep functional expertise in Oracle HCM Core HR
  • Prior experience managing or leading HRIS resources (directly or matrixed)
  • Strong understanding of HR data structures, employment lifecycle processes, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with acquisitions, global rollouts, or country‑specific HR requirements
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into system solutions
  • A go-getter attitude with the ability to balance multiple priorities through strong project management
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, and strong attention to detail 
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as the functional owner of Oracle Core HR, accountable for how the module operates in production and evolves over time
  • Define and maintain global Core HR standards, configuration principles, and business rules
  • Review, approve, and prioritize Core HR changes, enhancements, and defect resolutions
  • Ensure Core HR design aligns with upstream and downstream impacts (Payroll, Reporting, Security, Integrations)
  • Oversee Core HR configuration including legal entities, business units, jobs, grades, positions, work structures, assignments, and employment data
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of employee and contingent worker data
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure appropriate access controls and data privacy standards
  • Lead recurring audits and validations related to Core HR data and processes
  • Manage and mentor HRIS functional resources supporting Core HR (employees and/or contractors)
  • Set priorities, assign work, and ensure timely delivery of BAU support and project activities
  • Develop team capability through documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross‑training
  • Foster strong operational discipline, clear ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to P&C stakeholders on Core HR capabilities, limitations, and best practices
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Core HR solutions
  • Partner with Payroll, Talent, Performance, Compensation, and other P&C teams to support end‑to‑end HR processes
  • Support HR Helpdesk escalation paths for Core HR–related inquiries and issues
  • Lead Core HR workstreams for implementations, acquisitions, and country expansions
  • Partner with HRIS Technical/Reporting teams on integrations, data feeds, and downstream impacts
  • Support testing cycles including CRP, SIT, UAT, and regression testing for Core HR changes
  • Ensure documentation, job aids, and operational readiness for go‑live transitions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify Core HR processes, improve data quality, and enhance user experience
  • Stay current on Oracle quarterly releases and assess impacts to Core HR
  • Recommend and implement system and process improvements aligned to HR and business strategy
