About The Position

A leading hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking a highly skilled OR Tech III (Tier 3) to support complex, high-acuity surgical procedures across multiple specialties. This senior-level role serves as a lead technologist in the general OR, supporting robotic, ortho, neuro/spine, burn, vascular, and hybrid/endovascular procedures. The OR Tech III also functions as a clinical resource and mentor for junior technologists, contributing to a high-performing surgical services team. This position is ideal for surgical technologists with advanced technical skills who thrive in fast-paced, high-risk OR environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of OR Tech experience.
  • Endovascular experience in a hybrid vascular OR, including wire-based procedures.
  • Competency as lead scrub in all specialty areas: Robotics Total Joints Neuro/Spine Burn Vascular
  • Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience in an acute-care environment.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CORT).
  • CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certification required at hire.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms, instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for complex surgical cases.
  • Serve as first scrub on advanced procedures including robotics, total joints, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular surgeries.
  • Maintain sterile technique and uphold strict OR safety and infection control standards.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and help maintain efficient case flow and surgical progression.
  • Assist in second scrub duties: retraction, suctioning, camera operation, suture management, and specimen handling.
  • Demonstrate expertise in wire-handling techniques for hybrid and endovascular cases.
  • Support room turnover, equipment readiness, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, RNs, and fellow technologists to ensure smooth OR operations.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior technologists, supporting skill development and team performance.
