About The Position

The OR Service Line Specialist assists the Director in providing administrative, human resource, and financial management of designated perioperative specialty service lines following Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) standards at Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta. This role involves collaboration with the Perioperative Manager to control and analyze costs of service lines and identify ways to standardize and reduce expenses while maintaining quality service. The specialist negotiates with vendors on inventory needs and pricing, and establishes good working relationships with service line surgeons to develop, improve, and market service lines. Additionally, the position supervises and trains Registered Nurses, Surgical Technicians, and Patient Care Assistants on "best practice" for designated service lines, serving as a role model and providing positive influence to facilitate change. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field required or in progress
  • Minimum two years clinical experience in area of service line specialty
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
