About The Position

The OR Service Line Specialist assists the Director in the administrative, human resource, and financial management of designated perioperative specialty service lines, adhering to Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) standards at Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta. This role involves collaborating with the Perioperative Manager to analyze and control service line costs, identify standardization opportunities, and reduce expenses while maintaining quality. The specialist negotiates with vendors for inventory and pricing, and builds relationships with service line surgeons to develop, improve, and market service lines. Key responsibilities also include supervising and training Registered Nurses, Surgical Technicians, and Patient Care Assistants on "best practice" for their designated service line, serving as a role model, and facilitating positive change.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field required or in progress required
  • Minimum two years clinical experience in area of service line specialty required
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others

  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
