About The Position

The OR Circulator position is a Monday-Friday schedule only: NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS! Prepare the patient for surgery by positioning them correctly, ensure proper draping, and confirm the surgical site and procedure. Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct. Communicate with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues that may arise Record all aspects of the surgery, including vital signs, medications administered, and any complications that occur. Assess patients’ post-operative condition. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. Log all findings in patient files.   Maintain adequate supplies and equipment, including instruments, linens, and medications. Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician.  Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies.

Requirements

  • Current Florida Registered Nurse license and BCLS & ACLS certification required.
  • Candidate must possess general clinical competency in acute patient care
  • Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping patient flow to two hour or less stay in post-operative care.
  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in empirical & practical perioperative nursing.
  • Advanced knowledge in critical care practice of nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred
