The delivery of patient care through the framework of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis and patient outcome) in the preoperative, interoperative and postoperative phase of the surgical patient.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse License
Experience in the OR, sterile technique and universal precautions
ASC experience preferred
Current American Heart Assn. BLS required
Ability to achieve PALS & ACLS certification within 90 days of employment
Graduate of approved school of Registered Nursing with current and valid licensure with Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
Knowledge of State, Federal and Accrediting Body regulations and standards related to healthcare
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
Ability to relate and work effectively with others
Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
Demonstrates proper aseptic technique.
Demonstrates efficient turnover time.
Demonstrates proper technique for obtaining blood products.
Demonstrates proper patient identification verification per policy.
Demonstrates proper surgical site identification and marking per policy.
Anticipates surgeon’s needs during surgical procedure.
Is aware of professional nursing standard and performs in accordance with them.
Experience in the Operating Room, Endoscopy center or other critical care nursing environment preferred.
