Requirements

Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Experience in Pre-Op/PACU, and strong IV start skills required
Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely

Nice To Haves

2-3 years of clinical experience in Operating, Procedure Room or PACU preferred

Responsibilities

Utilize advanced assessment skills to formulate patient care plans and identify patient care problems
Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery
Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
Provide patient education
Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
