Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia . Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day. In this role, the OR/PACU Medical Assistant will:

Requirements

  • Must have completed formal MA education/certification
  • Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
  • Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) is required
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must

Nice To Haves

  • Infertility/IVF experience is preferred
  • Phlebotomy skills are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting as scrub technician in the OR
  • Proper sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment
  • Preparing rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available
  • Technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure
  • Proper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelines
  • Using autoclave and clean per protocol
  • Providing ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfers
  • Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support
