About The Position

The Perioperative Acute Care Manager is a registered nurse who, using critical thinking skills, coordinates the clinical activities within a specific unit and collaborates with other members of the health care team. She/he directly and indirectly supervises the care rendered by ancillary staff. Focus on unit based performance improvement, and is a resource instructor for competency assessment specific to units. Facilitate patient safety goals, implement, collect and measure PI performance and all nursing documentation review for accuracy. Dept. specific CDC guidelines review and to insure medication reconciliation is at 100%. Implements educational inservices to all outpatient and recovery areas. Assists with staff scheduling and filling in during the absence of Assistant director or on the clinical unit where needed to support staff. Acts as a role model to enhance clinical practice excellence and support evidence-based programs.
