Job Summary Under supervision of registered nurse, performs duties related to preparing operating rooms for surgery. The OR Equipment Technician applies the principles of growth and development when assessing and interpreting patient information, and planning and implementing individualized care based on the age-related needs of the adolescent, adult, geriatric patient and their families.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • CPR Certification
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: o Microsoft word, Power Point, Excel o Epic o Microsoft Outlook o Health Stream
  • Strong verbal communication skills, strong listening skills, excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Asepsis and sterile technique
  • Infection prevention
  • Positioning and body alignment technique
  • Must possess a sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable those senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position may be fully met.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend or lift intermittently throughout the work day.
  • May need to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when needed.
  • May be required to physically walk throughout the institution and/or ancillary buildings to conduct the duties of the position.
