About The Position
The Optometry Technician plays a crucial role in gathering essential data for the doctor to ensure proper patient care and treatment. This position involves various administrative and clinical duties, including taking patient histories, conducting preliminary and ancillary tests, scheduling appointments, preparing the exam room, and assisting doctors with examination needs. The technician is responsible for upholding the practice's quality standards, focusing on patient experience and effective communication. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
- Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
- Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
