About The Position
In medical practice since 1919, Wolfe Eye Clinic is a multi-specialty clinic providing vision care throughout Iowa. At Wolfe Eye clinic, we create Better Vision for a Better Life. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Optometric Assistant based out of our Ames clinic. The Optometric Assistant will assist the Optometrist in the overall clinic schedule to provide comprehensive care for our patients.
Requirements
- Detailed orientated
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Have excellent patient service skills
- Maintain excellent communication skills
- Some daytime travel is required. When traveling to other clinics, mileage and time on the road will be reimbursed.
Nice To Haves
- Previous medical or ophthalmic experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Performing patient workups
- Maintaining electronic medical records
- Documenting patient medical and ocular histories
- Assist the provider with patient care/education
- Performing diagnostic testing such as manual-refraction, OCT’s, visual fields and tonometry
- Triage phone calls
- Monitor patient schedules
- Additional duties as assigned
