This expanded reach has brought Temple medical care closer to home for many of our patients. The Optician fits patients with eyeglasses in the optical shop, administers, analyzes, and interprets prescriptions written by ophthalmologist or optometrist, takes eye measurements to ensure proper lens placement, and verifies the accuracy of the finished product. The role may also involve manufacturing lenses from raw materials and fitting them to frames, determining the best eyeglasses for patient needs, handling inventory control, providing assistance with insurance reimbursement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and billing procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years experience in a related role
  • Board Certification

Responsibilities
