DESCRIPTION

In this hands-on role, you will develop test methods to investigate the
underlying physical effects of optical sensors and systems. You will collaborate
in a multi-disciplinary team on novel optical technology prototypes. You will
take advantage of your experimental and data analysis skills and your
comprehensive understanding of optical science.

Requirements

• BS degree in Optics, Physics, Applied Physics, EE, or a related field Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and testing free-space optical systems
• Programming experience using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools Experience leading technical projects or mentoring engineers

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience MS or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, EE, or a related field Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and testing fiber-based optical systems
• Theoretical understanding and experimental background in optical physics Understanding of semiconductor laser sources, photodetectors, and optical measurement techniques
• Proficiency with optical simulation tools and techniques, including sequential and non-sequential raytracing software Experience interfacing and automating control of optical-lab instruments
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary engineering team environment
