About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Optical Network Engineer (SME) with 10+ years of enterprise experience supporting large-scale optical networks. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

• 10+ years of enterprise experience supporting large-scale optical networks
• Strong expertise in DWDM/CWDM technologies
• Knowledge of optical transport systems, amplifiers, multiplexers, transponders
• Hands-on experience with OTDR testing (span loss, bends, degradation)
• Experience with carrier-grade platforms: Adva FSP3000 Ciena 6500
• Strong ownership and accountability
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented
• Ability to work onsite (hybrid flexibility with approval)

Nice To Haves

• Ethernet: STP, 802.1Q, VPC, Multilayer Switching, Leaf-Spine Fabric
• Routing: RIP, OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, TCP/IP
• Cisco & Arista switching platforms
• Security concepts: Zero Trust, Least Privilege, Defense in Depth

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support large-scale optical networks
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex fiber and transport issues
• Perform OTDR testing and analyze fiber performance
• Collaborate with carriers to resolve dark fiber issues
• Present network designs, risks, and solutions to stakeholders
• Support deployments, including weekend work when required
• Drive enterprise-level initiatives across global teams
