NASCAR Event Management seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Optical Scanning Station and Pit Road Officiating Technician . The Optical Scanning Station and Pit Road Officiating Technician provides support for the Optical Scanning Station and Pit Road Officiating. This includes setup, operation, support, teardown, of the systems at NASCAR race events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient on Company provided hardware and software, email, Internet FTP usage.
  • Must be able to use current Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Basic electronics experience (Cat6 ethernet, HDMI, PoE, network switches).
  • Proficient with computers and basic networking.
  • Valid Driver License
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the race schedule and event calendar.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities according to the race schedule and event calendar.
  • Approximate travel required: 95%, including weekends.

  • Previous Hawkeye Innovations software knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, support, and teardown of the Inspection systems at NASCAR race events and NASCAR Research & Development center in Concord, NC.
  • Support inspectors that will be interacting with the system
  • Setup, operate, maintain and monitor the systems used to provide accurate data.
  • Maintain communication with team representatives to ensure accuracy of team submitted information and delivery of post scan data.
  • Communicate with system supervisor any system related concerns.
  • Troubleshoot any issues.
  • Distribution of all necessary pit road officiating equipment needed for the weekend including cameras, switches, UPS’s, cat5 looms, and fiber.
  • Mounting and powering equipment at each location and using a video monitor to site in each camera providing the necessary view needed.
  • Distribution of fiber optic cable to each site to provide connectivity from each switch back to fiber destination.
  • Troubleshoot cameras and equipment that may not be connected properly.
