About The Position

The OPS TV Graphics Assistant is responsible for the execution of graphic elements during television show production and for creating graphics for TV news programming. This position supports WGCU production and news teams by operating graphics systems, producing on-air visuals, and assisting with other production-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a graphic design or digital design degree or certificate program.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with creative design tools and software used in broadcast or digital media production.
  • Ability to follow direction, accept feedback, and collaborate effectively with production staff.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality visual content.

Responsibilities

  • Takes direction from the WGCU Motion Graphics Designer regarding graphic standards, workflows, and assignments.
  • Meets with TV news producers on a daily basis to determine program needs and graphic requirements.
  • Operates XPression graphics software during show recordings and productions.
  • Creates graphics as assigned for TV news shows, including titles, lower thirds, and other visual elements.
  • Incorporates edits, notes, and changes to text and graphics as directed by the Motion Graphics Designer or TV news producers.
  • Assists with additional television production tasks as assigned to support broadcast operations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
