About The Position

This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County. This position requires daily in-office or field work. This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan. We request that all applications be completed with People First - no faxed or mailed applications to the agency. Experience, education, and/or training used to meet the minimum qualifications and in response to the qualifying questions must be verifiable through information contained in your application. Requirements

  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
  • This position requires daily in-office or field work. Willing to physically come in the office daily and perform field work.
  • A valid driver's license, free of major infractions and access to an automobile to be utilized for work purposes and willing to drive to multiple sites as required by program needs.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience over the phone or in person.
  • Experience conducting community outreach.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as determined by program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by answering the 954-INSURES line to assist consumers with the Florida KidCare application process.
  • Answer incoming calls, retrieve messages, return calls, and assist with online applications.
  • Identify and resolve Florida KidCare technical issues as requested.
  • Serve as the local source of customer service information for community-based organizations and consumers in Broward County.
  • Distribute Florida KidCare materials to community organizations, schools, childcare providers, places of business and civic leaders.
  • Mail or hand deliver marketing materials or promotional items as requested.
  • Assist in stocking and having readily available large quantities of all Florida KidCare materials, such as postcards, brochures, posters, applications, promotional items, and other information needed by community partners in Broward County who are assisting with Florida KidCare outreach.
  • Attend community events and provide educational presentations to the community about the Florida KidCare Program.
  • Serve as the local client advocate for families, via phone or in person, for the identification of Florida KidCare issues. Refer such issues to the appropriate Florida KidCare Program Office.
  • Update database and electronic logs by typing in data for incoming calls, client services, applications submitted, events attended, and materials distributed.
  • Collaborate with the outreach team to plan local marketing outreach activities and participate in public relations activities, such as radio and television appearances, and community events as resources allow.
  • Visit Broward County Public Schools to view information helpful for Florida KidCare enrollment.
  • Participate in all communication activities such as conference calls, workgroup meetings, trainings, and presentations provided by the Department and the Florida KidCare Outreach Program.
  • Assist the local advisory committee, the KidCare Partners Taskforce, which is responsible for planning and assessing Florida KidCare outreach activities performed in Broward County.
  • Performs other duties as required.
