About The Position

This position is responsible for the rabies program within the Environmental Health Program and assists with sanitary nuisance investigations and management of the swimming program. The rabies program consists of receiving/sending emails regarding animal bites and exposures (bats), maintaining records, contacting victims, and preparing specimen (heads) for testing. Sanitary Nuisance investigation consists of responding to citizen complaints on environmental issues affecting community health and safety. Swimming pools inspections. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
  • This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The Department of Health is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship.
  • This position requires daily in-office or field work. Willing to physically come in the office daily and perform field work.
  • Able to work outdoors and lift 50 pounds.
