About The Position

Under close supervision, the EHS I will perform environmental health inspections and investigations of licensed and contracted facilities to ensure compliance with State and County sanitation laws, Oregon administrative rules, and guidelines. Advise establishments and operators of noncompliance and recommend corrective action.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree with 45 hours of life science coursework in environmental health, biology, or microbiology.
• Eligible for registration as an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee within two months of hiring.
• Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.

Nice To Haves

• Registered as an Environmental Health Specialist Trainee.
• Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
• Experience in food safety practices, including knowledge of food handling, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience conducting inspections and compliance activities.
