As an Ophthalmology Technician at Valleywise Health, you'll play a hands-on role supporting our Ophthalmologists in providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll perform diagnostic eye tests, measure vision and eye function, and assist with procedures that help detect and treat eye disorders in a fast-paced, patient-centered clinic. Under direct supervision, tests and measures eye function to assist the Ophthalmologist in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and disease in a clinic setting. Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an ophthalmic technician or ophthalmic assistant.
  • Requires Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification or be able to obtain the required certification within nine (9) months of hire.
  • A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required at the time of hire.
  • Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire.
  • You must complete the fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of your hire date.
  • Must present the actual card within 90 days of applying for the fingerprint clearance card.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
  • Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer graduation from an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician program.
