About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician for a short-term assignment in a fast-paced outpatient eye care setting. The ideal candidate will assist physicians with clinical procedures, perform diagnostic testing, and help ensure efficient patient flow while delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience working as an Ophthalmic Technician

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient eye care or specialty clinics

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary eye examinations, including: Visual field testing Tonometry Color vision testing Ocular motility assessments
  • Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
  • Record and update patient medical and personal history
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain ophthalmic instruments
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as: Slit lamp Tonometer Keratometer
  • Coordinate lab work, imaging, and patient scheduling
  • Maintain exam room inventory and supplies
  • Provide patient education and reassurance
  • Assist with minor procedures and laser treatments
