An Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe is a valuable asset to an Ophthalmologist as they assist in providing excellent patient care to the patients during their visit. This employee will use ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-up of patients in a clinic setting, scribe for Physicians and may also directly assist Physician(s) with examinations and treatment of patients. This is a full-time, long-term position. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, anticipating Physician needs, complying with company policies including HIPAA, verifying patient information, recording medical history and current medications, and confirming the purpose of visits. The technician will also check the condition of patients' eyes, perform various diagnostic tests, demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy and diseases, accurately document medical visits and procedures, ensure correct coding, prepare patients for treatments, measure vital signs, and maintain exam rooms.
