The Ophthalmic Assistant provides ophthalmic support services by assisting eye care providers with patient intake, diagnostic testing, procedures, and patient education in an outpatient setting. This role performs routine ophthalmic testing, including visual acuity and intraocular pressure measurements, prepares patients and examination rooms, and documents clinical findings accurately in the electronic medical record. Working closely with providers and clinic team members, the Ophthalmic Assistant helps maintain efficient clinic flow, clear communication, and a positive patient experience. This position functions within a collaborative, supportive care environment and supports quality, safety, and service standards for ophthalmic care in alignment with Trinity Health expectations.
