The Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patient and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS through American Heart Assoc
  • 1+ years of previous Medical Assistant or Optometric Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/ Optometric Assistant program OR 6+ months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Optometric Assistant program
  • Ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
  • CRT experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certified as an OA
  • 1+ years of experience in an optometric setting
  • Ability to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings
  • Windows based computer skills
