The Ophthalmic Assistant I is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments. He or she will ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited program
- Current BCLS through American Heart Association
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant OR 6+ months of experience as a Medical Assistant or Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant if graduated from an accredited Medical or Ophthalmic Assistant program
- CRT experience
- Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
Nice To Haves
- Certified as an OA
- 1+ years in optometric setting
- Proven ability to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings
- Windows based computer skills
