About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an OPEX Engineer. This role takes place at our facility in Greenwood, SC. The OPEX Engineer is responsible for providing a broad range of professional continuous improvement support to manufacturing operations and plant facility maintenance. There is project responsibility for the execution of complex projects and project assignments within the Operational Excellence department. You will help develop more complex engineering and process control documentation for manufacturing needs and provide coordination and technical guidance to production personnel as appropriate.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Training and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software (Microsoft Office, ERP SAP, AS400, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and fixturing design and applications
• Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing and its procedures and processes through improved layout and material handling procedures.
• Train factory operators in the use of equipment, tooling and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee changes and upgrades to the manufacturing facility.
• Lead events such as Shop Floor and Rapid Improvement Events to achieve factory cost-out target in your support area.
• Determine optimal manufacturing methods to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives.
• Conduct line capacity analysis and lead labor productivity improvement initiatives to achieve the business objective.
• Specify, design, quote, install, debug, and maintain equipment for use in manufacturing.
• Support Eaton’s digitization initiatives with the implementation of manufacturing execution systems (MES) in shop floor, electronic data presentation, Industry 4.0 and automation
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.
• Support other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed.
