About The Position

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking an Operator responsible for the tube mill operations and equipment to ensure continuous operation during the 1st Shift. The shift runs Monday - Thursday, 5:00am to 3:30pm. Requirements

High School diploma or GED Equivalent
Good mechanical aptitude
Experience in using special measuring devices, such as micrometer, calipers, and tape measure
Must be able to read set up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them for roll tooling adjustments
Ability to change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
Demonstrated ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling
Must be able to document downtime through a seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
Good communication skills with coworkers to ensure continuous flow of the mill and proper tagging of product by material handlers
Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities

Responsibilities

Prioritize safety and quality above all else
Focus on keeping the mill operational
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S)
Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill set-ups
Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) of processes and equipment in the area
Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor
Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
Minimize scrap
Work hands-on with maintenance to resolve issues in a timely manner
