At this operation, our team manages the coke handling and export process for the refinery.

Requirements

  • Maintenance: mechanically inclined and have worked in jobs that require you to trouble shoot or fix mechanical breakdowns
  • Equipment Operation: experience operating several different types of heavy equipment from various manufacturers
  • Refinery or Industrial Plant Operations: experience with high safety standards and dangers of working in these types of environments
  • Strong written and oral communication skill in English
  • Hands on Exposure with maintaining equipment using hydraulics, electrical trouble shooting, and pneumatic
  • Following safety regulations and written procedures within a refinery or chemical plant
  • Read, write and speak English
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid TWIC
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • You will be routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements
  • Lift up to 50lbs frequently
  • Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders
  • Climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend a ladder
  • Stand, kneel or crawl
  • Work a rotating schedule including days and nights
  • Must be comfortable with heights

Responsibilities

  • Load barges utilizing a conveyor system
  • Operate front end loaders and material handlers, and skid steers to move petcoke.
  • Maintain good and open communication with fellow Team Members, Equipment Operators, Cran Operator, Supervision, Managers and Maintenance Personnel via radio and other proper means
  • Help maintenance personnel with equipment maintenance when additional manpower is needed
  • Properly inspect equipment prior to and post operating and report any additional maintenance needs, and conduct frequent audits on the heavy equipment
  • Ensure clean work space by removing trash and debris from all areas of responsibility including structures, offices, restrooms, break rooms, vehicles, and equipment
  • Complete all necessary documentation as required including JHA's, permits, log entries, audit sheet, and daily check sheets
  • Learn other positions as time permits
