About The Position

The Utilities operator will operate, monitor, manage and troubleshoot all utilities related equipment. The list of equipment will include chillers, chilled water booster pumps, and associated VFDs, chilled water loop treatment chemistries, process air compressors including steam driven units, process air trim compressors, instrument air compressors, instrument trim compressors, air driers, cooling towers including fans, pumps and water treatment chemistries, and associated equipment. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping, basic preventative and reactive maintenance, sample retrieval for quality and process control, lockout/tag out tasks for department unit operations and completion of job related paperwork.

Requirements

  • Basic user knowledge for PI trends and D3 process controls
  • Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to move/transport 55 pounds
  • Ascends/descends stepladders, stairs, pipe racks, scaffolds, tank tops
  • Able to access all areas in the plant and work at heights
  • Sit or stand for long periods
  • Frequent bending and kneeling
  • Respirator qualified
  • Able to enter and work in confined spaces
  • Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training
  • Participate in company planner operations training
  • Equipment training may include but not limited to JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.
  • ADM requires the successful completion of a background check and medical clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage operation of equipment related to plant utilities and production processes
  • Forklift operation
  • Proactively participate in plant safety, environmental, quality related programs and policies

  • Report near misses and incidents on the day that they happen
  • Correct safety, environmental, quality related issues proactively
  • Perform housekeeping duties as assigned and to plant standard
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with all personnel
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives from the operations and compliance groups
  • Accurately record and report data
  • Effectively communicate plant safety policies and procedures to outside/ADM delivery drivers
  • Perform basic troubleshooting utilizing reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates time management and organizational skills necessary to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to review and apply written standard operating procedures
  • Actively contribute to and proactively participate in the continuing education and development opportunities for F.M. hourly personnel.
  • Understands their role in food safety and quality systems, actively participates in food safety efforts and ensures all activities conform to good manufacturing practices
  • Understand their role in the facility’s Environmental Management System (EMS), which includes conforming to the facility’s EMS requirements and conducting activities such as material management, training and recordkeeping in compliance with applicable requirements
