SUMMARY OF JOB Responsible for handling incoming/outgoing routine & emergency phone calls for approximately 300 Physician practices. Includes processing routine & emergency messages from physicians, nurses, hospital & nursing home staff, and patients. Also includes scheduling appointments, processing referral information, obtaining proper information on Rx 's, taking routine and stat consultations then contacting physician on call in accordance to their instructions. Also responsible for updating on-call schedules as well as on-call information at any given time. Must be able to take and follow directions from physicians and or their office personnel. Performs other office related duties as required. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent typing skills along with basic computer knowledge.
  • Good verbal, reading and comprehension skills.
  • Some office, telephone or customer service experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule a plus as department is 24/7.
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology helpful, but not required.
