About The Position

Position Purpose: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Industrial Wastewater Equipment Operator to run and maintain high-capacity centrifuges and filter press systems used in wastewater treatment and sludge dewatering processes. The operator will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, equipment efficiency, and overall environmental performance of our facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with pumps, valves, hydraulic systems, and control panels.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.
  • Technical/vocational training in water/wastewater operations or industrial maintenance.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods).
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and respirators is required.
  • May require work on elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust dewatering equipment including centrifuges and filter presses.
  • Prepare equipment for operation by inspecting components, checking lubrication, and verifying instrumentation.
  • Start up, operate, and shut down systems according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor process parameters such as flow rates, pressures, torque, cake dryness, and filtrate clarity.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or process issues and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment.
  • Collect, label, and log samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, inspection checklists, and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist with chemical handling (e.g., polymers, pH adjustment) and safe disposal of sludge cake and residuals.
  • Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE requirements.
  • Support environmental and compliance audits by providing data and access to systems.
