The Gund Company: Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of the Customer and Take Care of the Business Job Summary Implement the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the fabrication of parts according to work order and customer requirements. Ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Operate one or more non-CNC controlled production machines to include but not limited to lathes, horizontal and vertical mills, saws, tape cutters, etc. Many duties also involve manual work and/or assembly duties that require the use of various hand tools, paint accessories, drills etc.

Requirements

• Perform work independently with minimal defects
• Communicate with supervisor on work order priority
• Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts
• Very good math skills
• Ability to understand drawing and blueprints
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setup and Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment: Panel Saw, Cutoff Saw, Sheet Sander
• Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using various manufacturing equipment to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions written on Work Orders and blueprints
• Complete project work as needed involving the assembly of parts that require the use of hand tools, paint accessories and mechanical devices
• Complete work order paperwork
• Perform in-process inspection according to standard procedures
• Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
• Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
• Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Provide guidance, feedback and positive behavior modeling The Gund Company culture of care:
