Operator I (Assistant Press Operator) – Night Shift (7PM–7AM | 2-2-3 Schedule) We’re hiring an Operator I (Assistant Operator) to support our fast‑paced production team. This role assists in operating converting and finishing equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring safe, efficient production. Ideal for someone mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to grow.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Positive teamwork mindset
- Strong communication skills (especially during shift transitions)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Comfortable taking direction and coaching
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5–7 years of related experience or a combination of experience and training
Responsibilities
- Assist in operating converting line and finishing equipment
- Read job tickets and verify materials before production
- Support press crews in efficient machine operation
- Set up and operate in‑line systems (splicer, gluer, Straub applicators, label applicators, rotary cutter, etc.)
- Perform minor mechanical adjustments and basic repairs
- Maintain accurate counts and complete required documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Perform operator‑level cleaning per SOP
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and improving processes
