Position Brand Description: The Chief Officer position for Eli Lilly Fire Department – Indianapolis is integral to the Lilly Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team. This role will report directly to the HSE Senior Manager / Lilly Fire Rescue Chief. The Assistant Chief shall provide professional oversight and leadership in managing and assessing current training programs, policies, and procedures specific to LFR. This position will also offer leadership in developing programs, policies, and procedures designed to meet or exceed compliance requirements within the business area, while establishing systems to maintain documentation and ensure accountability in program delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or 5 years equivalent work experience).
  • Technical writing skills
  • Project management experience
  • Basic data analysis capability
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong collaboration skills internal and external to the company
  • Possess strong computer and administrative skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Fire and EMS Background, experience, training
  • Understanding emergency response regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in improving or developing a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Training Provide oversight for implementation, scheduling and delivery of Lilly Fire Rescue training programs.
  • Complete assessment of current LFR training curriculums.
  • Coordinate, manage and implement continuing education and training programs to meet the needs of the business area.
  • Coordinate with Lilly L&D business partners for program development.
  • Policies and Procedures Assess and review current LFR policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain policies and procedures to fit the needs of the business area.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of LFD EMS quality assurance program for run response and run reporting.
  • Support the execution of the on-site emergency preparedness and response plan.
