The Grinder Operator Trainee sets up and operates the Grinder machine, including assembly and disassembly of equipment used in production. This role involves measuring and checking raw materials, feeding materials for processing, and adjusting settings, while adhering to all company policies and safety procedures. Requirements

  • High school education or up to one-month related experience or training
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk for extended periods
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 10 pounds (over 2/3 of the time)
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds (under 1/3 of the time)
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 100 pounds (under 1/3 of the time)
  • Good attendance
  • Flexible to working overtime and weekends as required
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area in compliance with GMP and safety policies
  • Ability to accurately identify all raw materials used in the grinding process
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions
  • Ability to follow safety procedures (LOTO)
  • Ability to prepare machine for Sanitation

Responsibilities

  • Be on the workstation ready to work and on time
  • Maintain good attendance and be flexible to working overtime and weekends as required
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area in compliance with GMP and safety policies
  • Set up and program Grinder equipment (including component identification)
  • Unload products from combo or boxes
  • Debagging product
  • Proper use of the debagging utensils (knife or safety blade)
  • Weigh product
  • Proper use of the floor scale (verify scale for accuracy daily)
  • Load product into the Grinder hopper according to the customer specifications
  • Accurately identify all raw materials used in the grinding process
  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Check for foreign objects, for example, pieces of glove, metal, wood etc.
  • Report equipment issues to the supervisor immediately
  • Disassemble equipment at the end of the day
  • Follow the safety procedures (LOTO)
  • Ability to prepare machine for Sanitation
  • Other duties as assigned
