Responsible for the operation of the Fire Department Communications Center. Maintains station log, records all incoming voice communications, and maintains the center in a clean and orderly manner. Trains Firefighters on the operation of equipment in the center. Must be able to speak clearly under stress and write legibly. Responsible for keeping TO’s, Regulations, Charts, Maps, and other items essential to the center’s operation in current status and in assigned location. Operates Base after hour’s communication system as required. Accepts after hour’s trouble calls, inputs into computer and/or contacts EMCS personnel for troubleshooting or scheduling of craftsman. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have SECRET clearance
  • Must have the following certifications: Haz-Mat Awareness, Telecommunications I/II, and Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must be a US or Permanent Citizen due to contract requirements
