SUMMARY: Operates and/or tends specific machinery to optimize the efficiency of the production line and safety of the food produced. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned Under the direction of the Supervisor, operates Sealing, Filling, Cartoning and/or Labeling machine(s). 1. Verifies and loads correct materials for the product being run. 2. Operates equipment and ensures proper routine maintenance and supplies are provided. 3. Observes upstream and downstream process, stopping and starting machinery as necessary to create smooth product flow. Cleans machinery as needed during production to ensure optimum efficiency. Notifies supervisor when supplies are low or materials are defective; notifies supervisor and mechanic if machinery malfunctions. Adheres to established safety rules, internal policies and Food Safety regulations.
