As an Operations Work Lead Senior within PNC's International Commerical Trade Operations Group, you will work from PNC's Two Tower Center in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The Work Lead, International Commercial Trade Collections is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational execution of documentary and clean collections within PNC Bank’s International Commercial Trade Department. This role serves as a subject-matter expert and first point of escalation for complex collection transactions, ensuring adherence to ICC URC 522, PNC policies, and all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements. The Work Lead partners closely with Operations Management, Compliance, Relationship Managers, International Advisors teams to ensure timely processing, risk mitigation, workload balancing, and service excellence. While the role does not carry formal people management responsibilities, it provides functional leadership, and workflow direction to the Collections team. Operations Work Lead Sr. will lead daily execution of Import and Export Documentary Collections and Clean Collections. Assign, monitor, and balance workloads to meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations. Act as primary escalation point for time-sensitive, high-risk, or complex collection transactions. Ensure proper coverage during absences, peak volumes, and critical cutoff periods. Review and approve complex documents, exception items, and non-standard transaction structures. Ensure collections comply with OFAC, AML, sanctions, high-risk country and goods policies, and internal risk frameworks. Review and escalate transactions requiring Compliance or Risk Management approval. Partner with Compliance teams on inquiries, investigations, and regulatory requests. Oversee accurate transaction processing in trade systems (e.g., GTS or equivalent). Review and approve outgoing SWIFT communications (e.g., MT400 series, MT499, MT999). Coordinate with correspondent banks and courier services to resolve document or payment issues.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of International Commercial Trade Collections and ICC URC 522.
  • Proven ability to lead workflow and manage operational risk without formal people management authority.
  • Experience handling escalations, compliance reviews, and client-impacting issues.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail and accountability in a regulated banking environment.
