As an Operations Training Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the training and development initiatives within operations. In this role, you will ensure production staff, including line operators, batter makers, production support, warehouse, and line leads, are well-trained in all aspects of their roles. You will also ensure that production workers adhere to safety and food safety protocols, procedures, and best practices. In this role, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of learning, safety, and food safety excellence within our production facility and will report to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in food production preferred.
  • Ability to effectively train diverse groups of employees.
  • Ability to create training materials through multiple platforms (PowerPoint, Clipchamp, etc.)
  • Ability to work as a respectful member within a collaborative team.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems, make decisions, support others under pressure and know when to escalate more complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in group and individual settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to utilize email, Microsoft applications, and other internal software for daily communication between facilities, shifts, and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate day-to-day production technical training on the production floor to ensure consistent, efficient manufacturing practices that conform to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Demonstrate strong instructional techniques and foster a growth mindset among designated trainers (Senior Line Operators, Senior Line Leads, and Senior Batter Makers) and trainees, promoting continuous learning and continual improvement.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development Manager to design, develop, and implement training programs for operations team members, including distribution staff, team leaders, line operators, batter makers, production support, and line leads.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through performance verifications, coaching feedback loops with lead trainers, and coordination of continual improvement opportunities with the Learning & Development Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, skills matrices, and certification records to support compliance and operational readiness.
  • Ensure that all training activities reinforce job safety and food safety requirements, including safety protocols (OSHA), hygiene practices, sanitation procedures, allergen control, HACCP principles, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify skill gaps, develop customized training materials and job aids, and coordinate training schedules and assessments.
  • Collaborate with other Operations Training Specialists to ensure consistency and quality of training across shifts.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager and the Food Safety team to ensure best practices related to safety and food safety are incorporated into training courses.
  • This position is primarily shift-specific, although, as training needs by shift vary and to align training between shifts, it should be expected that the role could involve up to 25% of time on an alternate shift as needed to support operational needs.
