About The Position

As an Operations Training Instructor II, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating advanced technical and safety training programs. These programs aim to ensure regulatory compliance and cultivate operational excellence among gas utility personnel. This role acts as a crucial link between complex regulations and field execution, creating impactful learning experiences that directly improve the workforce's safety and proficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in gas construction, pipeline replacement, or utility operations
  • Proven expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Advanced knowledge of DOT Part 192, PHMSA, and OSHA regulations
  • Technical proficiency in pipeline integrity, pressure control, and emergency procedures
  • Strong facilitation skills for delivering technical training to diverse audiences
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations for training delivery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LMS platforms, and virtual training tools

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as OQ Evaluator, OSHA Trainer, or Instructional Design preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver advanced classroom, virtual, and hands-on training for gas utility operations
  • Design and update training curricula, manuals, and multimedia materials to align with regulatory standards
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical operations and emergency response protocols
  • Conduct competency assessments and Operator Qualification (OQ) evaluations per DOT Part 192 requirements
  • Analyze training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on performance metrics and feedback
  • Mentor and coach new instructors to standardize training delivery across the organization
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and DOT mandates
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or requested
